1. New Terrain Brewing
- Crowd Favorite: Golden Haze | 6.8% ABV | Ripe fruit notes, a decadent take on the style, and a smooth mouthfeel.
- Highly Recommended: Suntrip | 5.9% AVP | A lot of coriander and banana in the flavor. A minor fruitiness and a little citrus presence.
This brewery’s tagline, “Exploring New Terrains Through Beer,” honors its name. New Terrain is committed to its beers’ quality, innovation, and originality. They have a vast and beautiful facility in North Table Mesa.
- Hop-py Note: Outside, they welcome well-behaved dogs on a leash. The taproom is on a first-come, first-served basis. They cannot reserve tables for large groups or rent out the bar for private parties.

2. Cannonball Creek Brewery
- Crowd Favorite: Featherweight Pale | 5.5% ABV | This dry-hopped pale ale has an intense hop aroma with tangerine, grapefruit, and lemon notes.
- Highly Recommended: Not Mindbender Imperial IPA | 9.5% | Well-matched between hops and the malt sweetness.
Cannonball is the ideal location for beer enthusiasts to unwind, with more than 140 seats in the taproom. Located along Washington Ave, Golden, CO. Although music is playing, it is not too loud to have a conversation. Plus, the patio is an enjoyable space.
- Fun Fact: Since its launch in 2013, Cannonball Creek Brewing Co. has received at least one medal at every Great American Beer Festival.
- Hop-py Note: Regular business hours are available in the tasting room! Both patios outside are dog-friendly.

3. Coda Brewing Co.
Most Popular: Four Sticks | 12.7% ABV | This is a Russian imperial stout that has been barrel-aged in golden moon bourbon. Chocolate cake flavors, dark fruits, with a dash of bourbon.
Highly Recommended: Mind Palace | 9.4% ABV | English malt, Simcoe, and Citra hops, as well as orange and honey flavors.
A coda is a musical symbol that marks the end of a passage. Coda Brewing Company offers an exceptional combination of beer and music. Every beer on tap is paired with an audio track, resulting in an unforgettable experience complementing the unique beers available here. Located along Golden Rd. Ste C2.
Hop-py Note: Coda welcomes well-behaved dogs on a leash. When you visit, ask for a treat from the bar; water bowls are available outside.

4. Mountain Toad Brewing
- Crowd Favorite: Mt. Zion IPA | 7.6% | A bold and finishes crisply dry IPA with floral and citrus undertones from the west coast.
- Highly Recommended: Pandan Porter | 5.6% ABV | A Southeast Asian herb that bestows vanilla and coconut notes, was used to make this robust porter.
Mountain Toad is a great place to hang out in Golden, Colorado! Their patio is tucked away to the side of their building and has plenty of picnic tables for relaxing and drinking beers with food. More importantly, you can borrow some board games! The brewery is in historic downtown Golden, on the corner of 9th and Washington. Are you up for a pint and a game?
- Fun Fact: The four founders are all engineers who attended the Colorado School of Mines. They left corporate America to launch Mountain Toad. So, what’s the deal with the name? The toad believes in representing good health and vitality.

5. Coors Brewery Golden Co
- Crowd Favorite: Coors Banquet | 5% ABV | Sweeter and fruitier than other lawnmower beers, with grain, corn, and banana-bread notes.
- Highly Recommended: George Killian’s Irish Red | 5.4% ABV | Well-balanced, with lingering citrus rind and a touch of sweetness.
It is located on Ford Street in Golden. Golden has taken pride in it since then. The Coors Brewery Tour takes visitors through historic downtown Golden and the brewery. Just make sure to plan ahead of time—the ever-popular tour draws 300,000 visitors each year, quickly making it one of the best breweries in Golden, Colorado.
- Fun Fact: With a production capacity of 22 million barrels of beer, the MillerCoors Golden Brewery is the world’s largest single-site brewery.
- What’s New? Coors Brewery Tours resumed in March 2022, after a two-year pause. You can now reserve their tour package!
- Hop-py Note: The total visit time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and guests must be 21 or older to sample. Please bring a valid government-issued photo ID.

6. Golden City Brewery
- Crowd Favorite: Legendary Red Ale | 5.4% | It has a very light level of visible carbonation and a very hazy dark golden color.
- Highly Recommended: Evolution IPA | 7.1% ABV | Surprisingly smooth. A delicious beer that is lighter in color, less malty, and has a fresher hop flavor.
Please spend some time in their beer garden, where you can listen to live music, eat delicious food from rotating food trucks, and sample their Legendary Red and Pale Ales. Beautiful patio space to sit and enjoy the sun and a small room to chat with people drinking beer.
- Fun Fact: Golden City Brewer is the second largest brewery in Golden, Colorado, and the first microbrewery.

7. Holidaily Brewing Company
- Crowd Favorite: Fat Randy’s IPA | 7% ABV | Gluten-free with floral and citrus hop notes and a smooth, malty finish.
- Highly Recommended: Big Henry | 6.3% ABV | A sophisticated blend of bright, fruity, and intricate hop flavors.
It is not so easy to find a gluten-free beer that is both delicious and safe to consume—Holidaily Brewing Company produces gluten-free beers that are also enjoyable. With an understanding of the process and a zero-gluten-containing ingredients policy, these beers are exclusively gluten-free and delicious. The atmosphere is excellent, and the patio is a great place to start or end your night.

8. Over Yonder Brewing
- Crowd Favorite: Orange Whip | 7.3% ABV | It’s as smooth as an orange hoppy creamsicle.
- Highly Recommended: Citranade | 7.2% ABV | A firm malt backbone with a hearty flavor. It’s like eating a hoppy liquid granola bar.
Every beer you try here is surprisingly tasty, full-bodied, and flavorful. A one-of-a-kind selection for every taste. Fantastic craft beers, outdoor seating, live music, food trucks, and nearby restaurants. They’ve spread out all of their tables. This place is everything you are looking for on a lazy Sunday with friends.

9. Barrels & Bottles Brewery
- Crowd Favorite: Cin-Ful Porter | 5% ABV | A classic porter with a taste of cinnamon.
- Highly Recommended: Orange Creamsicle Ale | 5.3% | A light golden ale with a subtle fruitiness and delicate hop aroma that results in a smooth, easy-drinking, refreshing ale.
Barrels & Bottles is the next stop on your bar crawl. Barrels & Bottles is a fantastic craft brewery located in downtown Golden, CO, just south of the Coors facility. Provide both home-brewed beers. It is recommended that you try these beers. Barrels & Bottles is more than just a place to get good drinks; it’s a place for everyone.
- Hop-py Note: The tour can only accommodate up to 50 people on a group tour simultaneously. Please make your reservation at least one week in advance.
